Hello and welcome!

Here at Spoken Social, you’ll find collective thoughts and views on my interactions and experiences in life; most of which will directly correlate with how I spend 90% of my time… working in advertising and social media…. and every now and then you’ll find a blurb about the music business or a band I like <3

Why “Spoken Social”? Honestly, it’s the first line that popped up in my head when asked what I would call my blog. Also because I noticed that almost every conversation I have is somehow revolved around what he-said-she-said on the internet. It’s all spoken. social.

Social media is this ‘new’ phenomenon in the interactive marketing world and everyone seems to be scrambling to be widely recognized as experts in this new space. I feel like I’ve got some insight into the success and functionality of sites like Twitter, Facebook, & MySpace as I’ve been in the trenches as a user, advertiser, marketer, persona, whatever. Also, I’m about 20 years younger than all the other social media marketers, so I think I’ve got a leg-up on actually understanding and getting into the heads of the minds of Social Media’s most frequents (the tech-savvy mid 20 to 30 something’s who rarely ever question my friend requests, haha).
