Don’t waste time going to band practice

heirwulfIf you’re anything like me, you really don’t have the 20 hours a week to devote to jamming at the studio with the band, or the capital to be able to fund recording a mediocre album with some badass engineer. Also, (if you’re anything like me) you feel like everything and anything is cooler when done through social media.

Tools like Indaba and Bojam are changing the way bands are being formed and providing an easy way for musicians from all around the world to collaborate. “Online recording sessions” allow for users to come together online, record and mix their songs. You can even import recordings you’ve already done in Garageband or other recording software!

So lets say you’ve got this awesome hook for a song, but you really feel like it could use some ukulele, didgeridoo, and cowbell. Instead of putting up an obscurely awkward Craigslist want ad, you could simply hop online to one of these sites, findĀ  some dudes in Hawaii & Australia and get straight to recording! Anyone want to be in my band?
